Althing 2011

Friday, October 14 from 3:00 PM through Sunday, October 16, 2011.
Moran State Park,
Orcas Island, WA

The Althing is a gathering for the whole family in celebration of faith and culture of the Old Norse and Germanic people. This year’s event will be held at the majestic Moran State Park on beautiful Orcas Island. The facilities include a modern kitchen and meeting hall as well as group cabins in a private wooded setting.

Come explore the mysteries and magic of the runes and seidh, participate in rituals and rites honoring the Norse/Germanic gods, recount the stories and history of the Old Norse and Germanic people and meet new people as we celebrate Winterfinding with traditional harvest feasting and activities.

There are special activities for children and we encourage the whole family to attend.

Registration fees are $35 per person over sixteen years of age, includes bunk space, and meals.

There are a limited number of spaces available at the park on a first come/reservation basis. There are RV and tent camping facilities near the ELC, and many outstanding hotels, motels and bed and breakfasts on Orcas Island.

For more information about the park go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moran_State_Park

Vendors, Auction and Door Prizes

One of the highlights of the Althing is the auction on Saturday night. Vendors and merchants are welcome. There is no extra charge for vending although a donation for the auction would be appreciated.

Registered vendors and those donating items for the annual auction or door prizes prior to the Althing will be featured on the webpage and event publicity and mailings.
