We are an Traditionalist organization founded on Theodish Belief. Our goal is to grow a Heathen tribe in our local region to function as a countercurrent and an alternative to a desacralized modern world whose beliefs, values, and dominant worldview runs counter to those held by our venerable Heathen ancestors. We operate based on the knowledge that our ancestors held their religion and the rest of the Heathen culture to be one and the same thing. We do not hold “religion” to be a separate “sphere” from the rest of life as many do in the modern world. We strive to emulate the ancestors as closely as possible in thought, word, and deed through a close study and practice of not only the exoteric religious beliefs and practices commonly focused on by Heathen religious groups today but the rest of the culture as well. The folk of the Ealdríce Cynréd are a merry band of Heathens who call the Commonwealth of Virginia our home. Our trow and thew could well be described as English Heathen. As such it is largely patterned on the Heathen belief of the Anglo-Saxons. Our thews are mingled with the Celtic customs that survived into Anglo-Saxon times, just as trow is informed by the lore of the Norse who, for a while, returned the worship of the old gods to England, our ancestral homeland. Presently we gather in the homes of our folk, around and about the capital of Richmond though, when the weather is warm, we prefer to moot and hold blót outdoors.
